How can we use the world’s resources to best help others? How can we tackle some of the world’s most pressing problems, including ending global poverty and factory farming, mitigating technological risks, preventing future pandemics, and stopping climate change? How can SAIS students find fulfilling and impactful careers?

The Arete Fellowship is a seven-week-long program that engages with these questions and explores the core concepts and ideas within the Effective Altruism community. We hope the fellowship will provide you with a framework for figuring out how you can make a difference in the world.

Apply for our AI Governance Fellowship

This term, EA SAIS is organizing the second iteration of its 7-week fellowship, delving into the pivotal challenges surrounding cutting-edge AI models.

Through the EA SAIS AI Governance Fellowship, you can explore the nascent field of AI Governance, prevalent policy ideas about how to regulate AI, and its implications for domestic and international policy. 

In this field, there is a growing demand for expertise, knowledge production, and thought leadership. You will learn about the technical background of cutting-edge AI models & technical challenges, potential extreme risks from AI, impactful policy tools, the impacts of international competition & cooperation, and career opportunities in this field.
